The professionals who staff The Albert M. Higley Co. Self-Perform Center of Excellence specialize in projects that involve a significant self-perform component. These individuals have the ability to self-perform demolition, rough and finish carpentry and concrete work. Many of the group's professionals hold membership in the American Concrete Institute.

Kurt Heinicke Vice President Mr. Heinicke earned degrees in Biology and Civil Engineering from Denison University and Cleveland State University, respectively. He began his construction career in 1976 as a Project Engineer with an international petrochemical engineering and construction company. He joined The Albert M. Higley Co. in 1983 as a Project Manager and, in 1993, became Manager of Field Operations. He became a Group Leader of the Self-Perform Center of Excellence and a Vice President in 1995.

Phil Herbster General Superintendent
Mr. Herbster began his construction career in 1990 as a Carpenter’s Apprentice. He has served in the positions of Carpenter, Carpenter Foreman, and Superintendent at The Albert M. Higley Co. and currently operates as General Superintendent where he is responsible for the coordination of manpower and self-perform activities at all job sites. He maintains membership in the Carpenter’s Local 212.
