The General Contracting Center of Excellence focuses on servicing clients whose projects have unique requirements that demand specialized expertise, including:
- Clients with a campus of buildings requiring continuous construction services (task order arrangements).
- Projects using a general contracting or design/build delivery format.
- Industrial, manufacturing or heavy civil construction projects.
- Projects where we can self-perform at least 20% of the work. The Albert M. Higley Co. primary self-perform competencies include demolition, concrete, and carpentry.
In 2010, the Self-Perform Center of Excellence added a Special Projects Division which focuses on general contracting projects valued at less than $1 million. Specifically, this division concentrates on projects including building additions, renovations and maintenance assignments which involve significant self-performance.
