LAKE ERIE COLLEGE – AUSTIN SCIENCE CENTER
PAINESVILLE, OHIO
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Albert M. Higley Co. served as Construction Manager at Risk for the complete renovation of Lake Erie College’s Austin Science Center, originally constructed in 1964. This project created nine laboratories, five classrooms, and offices for math and science faculty.
The exterior pre-cast skin was removed and replaced by a new exterior wall of red brick, double-hung windows, and stone details to complement the aesthetic of nearby college buildings. On the interior, the lecture hall, classrooms, laboratories, restrooms, and offices were all upgraded to serve the College's chemistry, math, environmental science, and pre-veterinarian program. A new elevator provides barrier-free access.
